Roaming around (closed)

I eyed the person, eventually they started to walk towards Dié and I. As they got closer I noticed it was a boy. Okay really creepy. I shook my head and started to sit up nudging Kitten as I moved in hopes of waking her.

"Dié we have a visitor. When we are done talking we will go home and you can take a nap there okay."

I really did not want to wake her but it seemed I could not ignore the other presence and let her sleep on. I reached back and undid my long white hair, so I could run a hand through it. She was so peaceful, and the sleep would do her good. But she needed to get up, no avoiding it.

Dié muttered something in her sleep as she was nudged. It sounded like "Five more minutes," but the others really couldn't be sure. She curled around Dice's waist as the girl sat up. The tickle of the girl's loose hair is what finally brought Dié to awareness. She rubbed her eyelids, trying to focus. "Whasat? Compny?" her voice was still slightly slurred with sleep, but every second was one more step toward awake. Every second there was more energy from the girl rushing into her system, hurrying the process.

Finally she noticed the male and sat up from where she'd been on Dice's lap. She rubbed the word on her ankle as she straightened into a comfortable sitting position, her knees once more to her chest. One hand ran through her already rumpled hair while the other sought out her companion's hand. "Hello."

Hisoka watched as the white haired girl woke the raven haired girl. She had apparently decided to use the taller of the two as a pillow. The guy watched with disinterest as the raven who apparently was named Dié. His mind automatically put that away just incase. So who was the other woman. Hiso looked at his names in boredom. Why was he here again? Oh yea because he wanted to see if these two were new or not. Damn his curiosity. It was always getting in the way. His eyes raised and he realized the other must have sat up while he was inspecting his nails.

“You two are newly bonded, created, whatever the hell you wanna call it. Aren’t you? Cause I can hear your ring very far from hear.” He said bluntly. His voice was had a bored tone to it.

"Bonded?"

I looked at Kitten and helped her straighten her hair. He could hear the ring? I tilted my head trying to hear anything that seemed odd. Nope not a thing? Maybe he messed up his hearing, music too loud. Stupid headphones. I looked at the guy my grey eyes evaluating him. I pulled my ankles up to my hips, both legs piled on top of each other and off to the side of my body. I ran my hand through my hair and then neatly folded them in my lap.

"What do you mean hear a ring?"

I noticed Kittens hand moving to where mine own had previously been sitting. I reached out and held her hand, gently squeezing it.

She thought for a minute that she was still sleeping. The blunt speech that came from the male convinced her otherwise, and she immediately went on the defensive. Obviously he either knew something, or he was crazy. There was just too much of a coincidence on it being a dream for her to believe it for a moment, and as if that weren't enough, Dice's hand grabbing hers would definitely have told her this was the real world.

Dié cleared her throat, "You say we're bonded? This means what exactly?" She invited him to join them sitting by motioning with the hand that wasn't holding onto Dice like an anchor. "If you'd be so kind, it's a terrible pain to have to crane ones neck for no reason. It'd be wonderful if you'd be able to hand us some of these puzzle pieces." Her voice was no longer sleepy, but rather its normal mellow sound. Dark gray eyes watched the new comer like a hawk, but her manner showed no hostility. The child-like appearance belied her core which had become steel to be used should she need to protect her Ice, and she smiled softly, invitingly.

Hisoka sighed softly. They had no idea. He didn’t want to really explain so he would just tell them the basics and tell them to go to Seven Moons. That would make everything much easier. The teen ran a hand through his hair and sat down like the little girl requested. He would need to sit down to even give a basic summary of the world of Sacrifices and Fighters. “You two are bonded. A unit. One is a Fighter and the other is a Sacrifice. You guys are part of a world where we always seem end up fighting in spell battle. The Sacrifice can order the Fighter around. There you go. Go to Seven Moons, which is a school by the way, and you will get more answers there. The ring by the way is what allows other units to hear you. You won’t be able to tone it down without proper training.” He explained quickly. His eyes never leaving the ground as he brought his knees to his chest.

I took it all in, not a word said, though I smiled when Kitten used my puzzle reference.
The boy sat down, and explained, he used simple terms but it was just too absurd.

"Fighter and Sacrifice? and a ring..."

though a child probably would understand it I looked at him oddly. We are a unit, the word made us bonded. That I could understand to a point it made us like a pair, with the same word...Do other people have the same words?

"Spell battles?"

I shifted in my spot, so there is a school and it will have more answers for us. Seven moons, and training. I would assume this training is about spell battles.

"Why do people battle?"

Her eyes picked up traces of something Die believed was hesitation. Her mind was soaking up his words, but she was still very confused. There seemed to be a surprisingly complex system beneath all the simple words. In order to help herself understand, she attempted to explain to Dice, "Ice, I believe that if everyone had the same word, there would be no way to tell whose 'ring' you were hearing. The names he used are pretty self-explanatory, I think. In these 'spell battles' the 'fighter' is the one actually doing the fighting. From the name 'sacrifice' and short description, it sounds like the sacrifice is kind of like the strategist, but why the name? Then again, I'm as likely to be wrong as to guess right!" The young girl looked at the male curiously. He knew, and it looked like he wasn't going to tell them. The school was probably their best - or only - option to find answers and the training they appeared to need. Dark gray eyes moved to her companion, and the girl sighed, "We've taken enough time, we should probably follow his advice and research this school. Thank you for your help," she nodded to the male.

She stood up without much effort and stretched. She took her time, trying to place the name of the school, but she only come up with a blank. Die shrugged, "We'll need directions, since I've lived here for a while and never heard of 'Seven Moons'." She stroked the hair the color of snow, thinking to herself that it wasn't a bad thing to be "bonded" to a girl she could at least get along with.

Hisoka didn’t say anything as the other two spoke to each other and processed the information. It didn’t matter to him anyway. He was only doing this because he was bored. It was better then doing nothing. He sighed and checked his phone. No messages. How boring. He was hoping that Sophie would have texted him by now and demanded he get his “lazy butt” up. He doubt she knew he had left the house and had decided a walk would be good. He didn’t bother to tell her. He briefly wondered what the some what clingy (in his opinion.. Not that he minded really) girl was doing.

“Directions… I’m not good with directions but I can try I guess. But don’t blame me if you get lost along the way. By the way, a Sacrifice takes the pain in the battle. Hence the name Sacrifice but a Fighter can prevent that if they fight well.”

The idea of puzzle pieces disappeared from Dices mind and changed too chess pieces. Still the image just looked wrong. She closed her eyes fighting the sigh that wished to escape. When the urge passed she looked up at her companion, the girl was petting her hair. A situation like this probably called for a raised eyebrow but Dice ignored the urge and stood as well. She rolled her neck, and then each ankle waiting to hear these directions to this place.
Great bad with directions...Just luck.

"Is there a number that we could call and get directions to 'Seven Moons'?"

She tilted her head at the boy. He seemed antsy, but bored. The two didn't make sense but then what did anymore. She was bonded to a stranger though the fact didn't bother her. It was still odd, how could a bunch of people with matching markings not be noticed? How did a group of fighters who used 'spells' stay hidden? Dice looked at the boy calculatingly. She thought better and decided to wait to ask someone who would have answers to her questions.

The girl watched Dice and the stranger at the same time. There didn't seem to be a reason to completely trust him, then again, there was no reason not to, either. Die shrugged; if he believed it, that was his business, but it still didn't make very much sense to her, and from the way her companion acted, it appeared she was in the same position. The young girl's tail swished, and her ears twitched when he mentioned that one of them would be taking the pain in a battle. She looked up at the white haired girl and made up her mind; she would protect her from harm as long as there was breath in her body!

Die nodded when Dice asked for a number, "That might be a better idea if you're terrible with directions. You could always escort us there if you have nothing better, of course," the face that could have been a child's turned to the male with a half-smile at this suggestion. She didn't really want him to come along, when all she wanted to do was keep Ice all to herself for a while longer, but she knew that it'd be better to have his cooperation.

Hisoka sighed. This was taking to long. He hadn’t planned on staying and talking. He was just hoping that they would turn their ring down. It gave him a headache. In the end he had to deal with telling them about Seven Moons. He was pretty sure that quite a few of the units in the area who attended Seven Moons would hear the unit’s ring and would alert Seven Moons. He really didn’t know how they found out about new units and frankly he didn’t care. He could care less if this unit made it to the school or not. It may sound cold-hearted but he learned that feeling sympathy is just another way to get killed in this world. He looked at the two and stood up while brushing himself off.

”Don’t worry about that. Someone will find you. Trust me. Seven Moons always knows when a new unit is in the area…. It can be a real bother sometimes.” He said while cracking his neck.

I rolled each ankle and looked at the boy.
Okay so he doesn't want to help us. That's fine.
I nodded my head at him and started to walk away. Waiting for Kitten to catch up, or speak whichever came first. I stopped only a few feet away, glancing over my shoulder.

"Thank you for the help then."

If someone comes in contact with us then we know its true. That there is something more than just a coincidence that we have the same words on ourselves. Not to mention if someone else does get in contact with us they will explain, hopefully better than this kid. Though he was kind enough to help us this much.

The girl wanted to scream in frustration, but she made sure her outer appearance didn't betray her feelings. She smiled sweetly at the male and turned to Dice, "We should leave, if we're going to get you some essentials before going home." Die wiggled her fingers over her shoulder in a good-bye wave to the male as she skipped over to her companion, hooking their arms together.

He's such a cold fish; it's probably been against his nature to help us this much! We should still get away, he's kind of creepy. She mentally chastised herself for that last comment, even if it was true. She smiled brightly up at the white haired girl, wondering just how she was going to be able to protect her completely. She mentally shook herself and started skipping forward, "Come on! If we're too slow, there will be nothing to look at, the mall will be closed!"

[Die has left the City Park and has gone shopping]

I shook my head at her antics. But nodded my head and followed after her. She liked the idea of the mall and she was genuinely happy. I jogged to catch up with Die, as I had fallen behind her while musing about her and the mall. Her hair bounced with every skip, and her tail flashed behind her. Even though I wore clogs I wondered if she ever feared rolling an ankle, or breaking one. Though I needed to go to the mall, and pick up a few items. I snorted, a few? More like everything a normal person would need. I barely had the essentials in my little duffel bag.

[Dice leaves the park and makes her way to the Mall. ]

Hisoka didn’t say anything as he watched the two leave with a bored expression. What did he want to do now? Nothing seemed interesting really.. Maybe he should just go home. He sighed and checked his cell once more before began walking. He just wanted to get out of this park and away from all these people. They were starting to get on his nerves anyway.
