Nobutaka's Pizza Palace (or as its known around the community "That dumpy pizza joint") is located right at the end of the street on the corner. The owner himself is a bit of a unpleasant cheapskate so he not really well liked to those who know him. Fortunately for his business, he has good employees (and the fact that he himself isn't around much helps a lot too.) so people still come there.

It's design is stereotypical; it looks exactly how pizza places are imagined to. The food is also as stereotypical as you can get as well and the menu is sort of small but it's some of the best pizza around.

His hands were stuffed in his pockets of his feathered down vest as he walked from the parking location to the Palace. He opened the door and could smell the food. For night time it wasn't crowded. At least not yet which made Valshe smile. He turned his head sharply and sighed as he walked to a table and sat down. "Nice and quiet for now." He said as he grabbed a menu on the side and began skimming it. "Hmm I wonder if a meat lovers with extra toppings will fill me up." he muttered as he waited before ordering anything. He did have a few things in mind as he moved his hair away from his eyes. "Need to get this cut soon...It's bothering me now." he said as he pulled his hair back and grabbed a band from his pocket. He tied it up into a top pigtail and continued looking over the menu.

Chii was busy wiping down tables when a new customer walked in. He was pretty cute, she supposed but she wasn’t allowed to flirt with customers so that didn’t matter. She quickly finished her cleaning tasks and tucked the rag that she was using into the plastic box that they used to hold the dirty dishes from the tables. She maneuvered it into a more comfortable position for carrying and quickly made her way to back to put them away.

It wasn’t good to make customers wait after all so she quickly put them all near the dish washing sink. Hopefully one of the others would get to it when they had some time (or maybe she would do them in a bit) and made her way back out front. She quickly spotted the young man and made her way over.

Hello there, and welcome to Nobutaka’s, sir,” she said with a bright and perky lilt to her voice. She pulled out her trusty notepad and pencil that one of the other employees had given her and said,” My name is Chii Hajima, but you can call me Chii, and I’ll be your waitress this evening. Do you already have an idea of what you’d like or would you like to take some more time to look over the menu? We also have lots of yummy specials if you’d like to hear about one of those instead.”

Valshe was scanning the menu and decided that he was torn between two pizzas and some breadsticks. "Hmmm.." He said lowly to himself as he examined the choices again. The furrowing of his face and intensity of hie eyes was showing how deep in though the man was until a clear, cheerie like voice pulled him back into reality. He sat up and smiled a little bit as he looked back at the menu. "Chii, Lemonade not ice a little sugar full glass. Is it possible to slit a pizza in half? I am torn between the Veggie Surprise and the Meatlovers. A side of bread sticks and what are your specials for today? I may take another order home." He said placing the menu down and folding his hands giving her his full attention despite him slouching and showing poor form.

She quickly jotted down what he wanted, making sure to get everything perfect for the kitchen staff. She stopped short, however, when he mentioned wanting to split a pizza down the middle. They usually didn’t do that sort of thing but then again, he wasn’t a regular customer. The regulars knew better than to ask. Old man Nobutaka hated splitting pizzas, considering it a waste of time and money; so they usually weren’t allowed to do it. ‘ Just order one or both,’ was his opinion on the whole matter but since he wasn’t here at the moment, maybe she could get Funaho-san to work something out.

Okey, dokey. Lemonade, and one order of breadsticks, which are amazing by the way,” she repeated back making sure she’d gotten everything,” Oh you are in luck today, sir. Our famous Pineapple Pizza is our specialty pizza of the day, alongside the Hamburger Pizza as well. They’re both pretty yummy. But the pineapple is the best in my opinion.”

She made sure to smile as nicely as she could for the next statement, however,” And as for the half and half, I’ll see what I can do, sir. It isn’t something we do here a lot, splitting pizza down the middle I mean, but I’m sure we can come up with something that you’ll like.” She finished her last statement with a happy little flourish, a neat little trick that she’d picked up from the new girl with the blue hair while she took the menu from him to get it out of his way. The customers seemed to love it when she did it, so why not try it here.

You can take your time and decide if the you want the special or not,” she said,” Will that be all for now, sir?”

"Hmm" Valshe said as he thought about the pizzas Chii had mentioned. Her face from earlier told him that what he really wanted he couldn't have anyways. Valshe brushed his hand through his hair and sighed as he was a sucker for Pineapples. "Hmm since your oh so cheery mood and sweet smile has me hooked I guess I will go for the Pineapple Pizza. 2 of them if you don't mind." He said as he offered her his sweetest smile. "You don't have to worry about the split. Don't need to make your jobs stressful in anyway so just give me those and I will be fine." He waved off as he pulled out his phone and began checking his appointments.

She giggled and flashed him a winning smile and a wink,” You got it, sweetheart. Two pineapples coming right up. I promise you’ll love them.”

She quickly jotted down the order and made her way to back to turn it in. Chad was the main cook tonight so his order should be out fairly quickly since he was quite the speed demon in the kitchen.

Ready to get started, Chad?” she said, handing him the order when he turned around.

Yeah. About as ready as I’ll ever be,” he joked, and after looking over the order, he started cooking. Chii meanwhile, prepared the lemonade and breadsticks since those wouldn’t take long. She was so thrilled that Chad had just finished making some. Lucky break if you asked her since it meant that she wouldn’t have to make more. She put both items into to-go containers just in case he wanted to them to go. She really needed to remember to ask about that when she took the orders. Genji got on to her all the time about that. She couldn’t help that she was forgetful.

Once she had finished preparing the items, she grabbed them both and headed back outside to the customer. He could at least eat a few of the breadsticks while he waited on the pizzas to finish cooking. She made her way over to him and set both items down in front, trying not to disturb him since he was busy with his phone. People tended to be touchy if she did that. She was sure that he was fine for the moment so she headed to a nearby table to clean it.

Valshe erased some messages off his phone but her giggle caught him off guard a bit. Just as he looked up at her she gave a smile and wink. "I trust your word now so don't disappoint." He said as she left him by himself in the dining area. Valshe happened to look outside and found nothing of interest out there even though sometimes the night life here was far more active than the day. 'Man what do I want to do tonight? I don't need to go to the house and see my old man. Don't need to stop by my uncles at all. I do want to stop by the academy tomorrow and see how the short brat is doing. Maybe I should make him mad and come in there with torn jeans. Look unprofessional like always.' he seemed to chuckle to himself finding his torturing of Kyros amusing. He was going there for business but at the same time he loved pissing the other off.

Going through his phone once more for his schedules and finding nothing of value he decided to go ahead and close it just as his drink and breadstick order came to him. "Thank you." He said as he looked confused a bit at the box. "Does a box come standard like this now??" He asked her as he opened it up and smiled. "Mmm freshly made breadsticks and right from the oven." He took out one stick and you could smell the garlic and butter spread. He took a bite and savored every inch of flavor in his mouth. "Man I haven't had a good breadstick in a long time." He said happily as he took another bite loving each morsel.

Chii blushed when he mentioned the box and after placing her cleaning tools aside for a moment, she looked over at him. She had hoped that he wouldn’t notice it but that hope was quickly dashed. She quickly tried to think of a way to cover her mistake but no useful idea came forth. So she just decided to be honest. Honestly was the best policy after all, or at least that’s what her mother said.

Well, sir, to be perfectly honest, I forgot to ask you if you wanted to have your food here or to go so I thought I would just put it in a to-go box just to be safe,” she answered with a little laugh at her own foolishness, “ I hope you don’t mind.”

She smiled as she watched him enjoy the breadsticks though. Chad would be happy that he had gotten the recipe perfect. He had worked really hard to learn how to cook them so it was good to see his hard work pay off.

I’m glad you liked them. They’re a newer item here so it’s good to know the customers approve,” she said as she finished cleaning the table. She gathered the cleaning supplies together in order to take back into the kitchen area before she spoke again,” I hope you enjoy your meal, sir. I’ll be right back so if you need anything you just let me know, okay?”

And with that, she made her way into the kitchen to put the dishes into the sink and put the cleaning items until they would be needed again. While she worked, she chatted with her coworker a little and asked how long it would be until his food was ready. It was still cooking away but it shouldn’t take too much longer, she was told. She nodded, happy that things were going smoothly for once. That oven tended to break down a lot. Nobutaka was way too cheap to get a new one until he was sure that this one couldn’t be repaired. It was shame too since a newer one would be way more efficient but every time Funaho tried to tell him this, it just went in one ear and out the other. It was like talking to a brick wall.

After a couple more minutes of chatting and helping clean up the kitchen some, she made her way back into the dining room to check on the customers.

PostSubject: Re: Nobutaka's Pizza Palace    Nobutaka's Pizza Palace EmptyFri Jan 17, 2014 2:27 pm

Savory, garlic buttery breadsticks~ Something Valshe had a definite weakness for was great food. Normally not one to eat out much but today he decided to cheat his nutritional regime and go with something a little on the greasy side. A way to a man's heart is through his stomach was something his maid Samantha would tell him all the time which was another reason why she cooked all his meals to perfection as he became overly picky on the foods and how they were prepared. Just as Valshe was prepared to eat his 4th savory stick of goodness he stopped himself and looked at the box. Hmm....I ate 3 already and I have yet to have my pizzas... His stomach seemed to growl that it didn't care either way but he knew he couldn't over do it with the food. Reluctantly he placed the other breadstick back into the Pizzeria box to prevent himself from eating all of them in one sitting. I will have to finish them before they get cold. They never taste right when you reheat them... After closing the lid and pushing the box over to his left hand side some more to create a barrier from eating the sticks before his pizza came. Chii was cleaning a table next to him and told him she forgot to ask if he was dining in or taking out which made Valshe chuckle a little, "It's fine actually. I believe for me it will prevent me from eating all of them at once so this works out perfectly. Just be careful next time because people are picky like that" he concluded as he drank some of his lemonade down to satisfy his thirst. "Hmm. Was this just made? It is a little on the warm side." He set the glass and tapped it. "Since it is freshly made can I have just a little bit of ice? That would help me out a bit."

Soon enough Chii walked back to the kitchen leaving him to his thoughts which weren't much because on his face he had nothing but absolute boredom. "Man there is nothing to do. I might just go to my house and just relax and sleep. If my uncle didn't live in the Rural area I would have crashed at his place. Oh well..." He stated as Chii had returned to the dining area. Valshe called for her as he straightened himself up. "Question? How long till my pizzas are ready? And I need a little bit of ice for my lemonade still." He stated as he tapped the glass again unsure if she heard him before she walked back there earlier.

When she saw the young gentleman tapping his cup to get her attention, she quickly made her way over to him.

I’m terribly sorry. I must not have heard you the first time. Those clanking plates can get pretty loud,” she said, a little embarrassed. First the box and now this, man she hoped that she wouldn’t get in trouble. But he seemed nice enough, maybe he wouldn’t mention it. “Oh, your pizzas should be done in about five more minutes, tops. They’ll be out in just a bit.

She smiled, and then gently took the cup out of his hands,” I’ll be back in a jiffy with your ice and pizza, sir.

She spun on her heel, her skirt twirling slightly with the movement and made her way back to the kitchen area again. As she made her way over to the ice maker, she noticed Chad was already getting the pizzas out of the oven and into their boxes, and then all that would be left would be to cut them into their proper portion size. They looked great, warm and delicious. The cheese was perfectly melted and the crust was wonderfully crispy. All in all, they should surely please, she thought as she put the ice into the cup and topped the drink with a little more lemonade before placing the lid back on.

Those look great, Chad,” she remarked as she made her way over to him. He looked and grinned brightly as he made the last cut and put the cutting tool away so he could wash it when she left.

Thanks, girlie. You know an artist loves to have his work praised,” he replied as he closed the box tops with a flourish.

Sure they do. Too bad I don’t see any around here,” she teased and he clutched at his heart as if it pained him.

How cruel you are,” he replied in an equally teasing tone and a smile. He put the boxes on top of each other and held them for her to take. She thanked him and took them. She, then, made her way back out to the seating area and to her customer.

And here they are. Two pineapple lovelies,” Chii said as she placed them and his drink on the table in front of him, “I hope you enjoy. I’ll just go grab your check right quick and then you can be on your way. And thank you for stopping by Nobutaka’s Pizza Palace. We hope that you come and visit us again, ok.

And with that, she turned and quickly made her way to the printer in the front to go get his check.

She was a bit ditzy but Valshe didn't seem to mind it since it was just him here gathering his food for tonight and for tomorrow. His lavenders looked around curiously seeing people walking the streets of night more than likely to go have some fun somewhere. There were plenty of clubs and bars in the downtown district where the partiers can enjoy their glamor and crazy lives. Valshe did it once in a blue moon when he felt he needed a break. Valshe sighed and closed his eyes for a brief moment allowing the background sounds to drown his senses of work and fatigue. The more he concentrated on the background noise he fell into thoughts of his training with his family...

"Which it the major artery in the leg? You guess wrong you could sever their leg completely and then they would need amputation. Do you want your patients to die Valshe?"

His eyes opened slowly that menacing grin his father always gave him when he wanted him to doubt himself. It was to make one become confident in their practice or get punished until you were strong enough for it. Valshe shook his head and sighed but the smell of fresh Pineapple pizzas snapped his mind out of it's haze. She brought him a to go cup as well and his mouth watered. "Perfect. Guess dinner and some movie would do well for me tonight." He said as he took the to go cup and set it down. "Yes the check and I will be out of your hair I promise." he smiled for her as he stood up and leaned against the booth. Of course he opened one box and stole a slice. He couldn't resist the scent of gooey cheese and mouth watery pineapples.

Chii reached the cash register near the front entrance of the store quickly and pulled the customer’s number. Once that was done, she printed out his ticket and made her way back to his table. He looked happy with his purchase which brought a smile to her face. That was one of the few good things about this job, making people happy with good food. Not even Nobutaka could take that away. And oh boy, believe her, he tried. The man was a terror. As she passed the windows, she took a quick glance outside. There seemed to be a lot of people out tonight. She hoped a few of them would stop in and as if they had heard her, a group of young ladies entered. She gave them all a bright smile, and told them to take a seat at the large table in the center and that she would be with them in just a moment.

It’s good, huh,” she commented as she reached the table, “I told they were something else.” She laid the ticket on the table,” There you go. Your bill, sir.”

She gave him a few minutes to get his method of payment out by going over and getting the young ladies drink orders. It wasn’t a good idea to hover over people when they were getting their money out. It made them uncomfortable.

Chii walked off with such swiftness it sort of made Valshe chuckle a little. He finally managed to get halfway down to his slice of pizza as he looked down at the partially open box. He placed his slice on top of the lid as he began to close it, "I need to close this before I wind up staying here munching on the whole thing." Just as he managed to fumble with it a bit and seal it shut the chime at the door went off. A group of girls came in and sat down at a large party booth. Valshe, in his mind like always, was breaking each woman down not just by their physical appearance but also by their subtle actions.

Chii's comment broke him out of his state as his lavenders looked at her confused. His eyes wandered to the pizza slice he has yet to finish and he nodded with a smile. "Yes very good indeed. It's okay to splurge on something unhealthy once in a while." He said as he dug into his back pocket and fished out his black wallet with the Jeniou Insignia on the face. He had pulled out one of his bank cards and waited for her to return. He picked up his slice and tried to finish it before Chii came to take his payment.

Chii quickly took down the ladies’ drink orders which the group had very swiftly decided on. The food, however, seemed to be a different story. They couldn’t quite decide whether they wanted to share a couple of large pizzas or just get individual ones for each of them. So, Chii told them to take their time and decide what they wanted to do, which items they wanted, and she would be back with their drinks shortly. They seemed to agree with her suggestion, so she made her way back to Jenoiu-san since she had likely kept him waiting long enough.

She quickly made her way back over to him, her heels clicking lightly as she put a little more speed into her steps. Luckily, he seemed to be more interested in people watching/finishing his slice of pizza to notice her much which made her relax a bit. The insignia on the young gentlemen’s wallet caught her eye and when it finally sunk in who he was, she could’ve kicked herself. How could she have not remembered the name of one of the most important families in Kibo? Just how do you forget things like that? Chii hoped that he had liked the place, though she doubted that he would mention this dump to one or more of his likely important friends. Though maybe, just maybe, this little dump might’ve made enough of an impression to tell people about. That would open all kinds of doors for both this place and her coworkers.

But there was no time to dwell on silly things like that or so she thought Funaho would say in a situation like this. Just do your best and smile. So that’s what she did.

She took the card laid out on the table with a light flourish and a bright smile,” I hope you enjoy everything, sir. I’ll just give this a quick run through and then you’ll be free to go, okey dokey.”
And she left to do just that.

Valshe nodded as she went to go and tend to his bill. He managed to close up all of his boxes and grabbed some napkins to clean his mouth off. Looking outside he was debating on just heading home and watching a movie or actually taking a night stroll after eating some pizza. The dogs all needed to be let loose for a while. His mental debates made him think about not being lazy and with a sigh he figured taking the animals out for a walk would be nice.

Chii ran his card through quickly and while she waited for the receipt to print out on the old machine, she whistled a little tune to pass the time. One of those mindless pop songs that you hear on the radio a million times before it fades away into nothing. After the receipt had printed out, she quickly brought it back over to him.

Thanks for visiting us here at Nobutaka’s,” she said with a smile as she handed both the card and receipt,” I hope you’ll come see us again soon.” She finished with another cute little wink.

And with that, she went to go see if the ladies were ready to order. Turns out they were, finally deciding on individual pizzas for each of them. So she took each of their orders and headed into the back to pass them along. The night was young and she hoped they got many more customers before it was done.

As Chii turned heel and left Valshe at his booth he looked over at the other party. They were women seeking a snack and his lavender eyes watched them for a few moments. "Party goers of sorts? Hmmm...that reminds me. One of the families is to host a party of sorts soon." he said as he thought about it but his mind was drawing a blank. "We did ours about what....a month ago so it isn't our turn." He was now looking at the pizza box and his stomach growled again. Informing the man his answer would have to wait until he was full and recharged with energy.

The clicking of heels against the floor and the sudden stop made Valshe look up and he smiled at her as he took his card and receipt. He signed it and offered her a tip of 2056 Yen, roughly around $20usd, and he handed her back the paper. "You have been a great waitress so enjoy your tip. Don't spend it all at once now. I will return soon and have a good night." He said in a chipper mood now as he grabbed his food and left the restaurant. He stood outside for a second debating on where he wanted to go. Home or to his own place away from his family. With a smirk he knew he wanted to snuggle with his dogs away from his family.
