Hizaki Private Facility

This is the Hizaki private facility, located in an apartment building adjacent to the hospital. To enter this facility one must enter a secure building and take an elevator to the 15th floor. Upon exciting the elevator they would pass through a second security check point before being able to enter the apartment. There is a 24 hour doctor on site, and 24 hours security. Hidden in a bedroom beyond all these rests the Hizaki head, Jin.

Her car door clicked behind her as she shut it, half jugging the bag in hand that held the things she had brought with her today. It had already been a rather long day, even though it was well before noon. Working shifts at the child’s clinic passed her duty to her family’s hospital while studying for her Pediatrician degree. Well, ‘volunteering’ to do the things that she could do with a nurse’s license as she was finishing her main degree.  So her ‘day’ had rather started well, last night and would not be well over again until this evening.

A class this evening to attend, or well a test to take really.

She still had yet to make it to the store to buy the groceries she was short, but if anything she would put it off another day grab some take out after her test. Wallow in self misery over a test she may or may not have failed.  The last few weeks had not been forgiving on her studies, It made Meiko miss not really being home. Though she couldn’t say she wished it was like it had been a few years ago. But living alone was a lot better than being trapped day in and out at that house.

With all of them.

Shifting her back over her shoulder and straightening out her shorts over the black leggings she worn, amber colored eyes looked at the doors to the building she was getting ready to walk into. Maybe it was sad to say this would be a part of her day she looked forward to sometimes. Coming here, sitting in that quiet room after seeing to her ‘patient’ physical work out needs and talking?

Not that she would ever tell him that. If he was to ever wake up, after a year and a half Meiko found herself wondering if he would, if this little game would out live her ‘fathers’ patience’s and her dream of escape would be ended. But she played the hand given her, it was all she could do after all.

Keep a secret; spin a tale as long as she could. Show the family of the man she was to marry that she could act in depend of her family ties. That she could be the dutiful wife to him well before they were even married. And o, how she tried, good worked lie was easier and easier to place here and there, stories of why he wasn’t here or why the official engagement had not been made yet. After all, she just had to play with what his elder’s gave her. Taking a deep breath Meiko crossed the parking lot to the tight closed doors, sliding the key card she had been given so much time ago to walk into the security facility. Build over two years or so ago around him, to keep him safe for the eyes of the public so no one would know yet of the weakness in these hours in the Hazaki house hold.

With so much falling apart these days.

Her flat heels made an annoy sound on the asphalt, the red head normally tried to look fitting when coming here, just in case he was to wake up by chance.  Today had been a bad one to start off, having work way longer then she planned and not getting home yet. She had showered at the hospital and put on a very plain out fit, her now mostly dry hair dancing about her head as she walked passed the doors. But she didn’t have time to waste. His physical therapy to keep muscle mass from deteriorating came before getting a nap, study was before that. If anything she might fall asleep reading her text book to him again.

The redhead had taken up stay a lot longer then need, sitting in his room reading… Though she didn’t have a clue what he liked to read [getting answer was very hard from his family member if any at all], so she stuck to literary classics, some poetry, sometimes she read books aloud she liked and of course, she read her text books aloud too. Speaking to those in acoma was supposable helpful and she didn’t want to bore her husband to be to death by just talking about herself for hours.

Even she would get bored to tears of that.

Amber eyes turned to look at the person sitting at the desk, more so security then an attendant, the two fighter’s barely bothered  a glance in her direction as she waved at them walking passed into the halls that would lead her down into his room. It was normal now for her to be here, before she was always question, her bag search and what not. But after so long, She had just become another individual to oversee the caretaking of their Head.  Out of Habit she stopped in front of his door, and fussed a minut making sure her clothing was as straight as it could be and taking a deep breath.

I can do this.

Repeated in her mind for the millionth time, as her knuckles knocked on the door for pure politeness while she opened the door; Meiko didn’t expect anyone to tell her she could come in. No one even did, when she came he was also so alone in this room. The lights were low as she steped in taking her bag off her shoulders.


“ It’s such a nice morning out, why don’t I open the windows a bit before we start, um Jin-sama? A little sunshine will do you some good.” Her voice light, calming as she spoke not turning her head yet to look at the bed but instead the windows as she started to cross the room to open the curtains up. " I hope you won't mind listening to my studies later, I know I promised we'd finish that book. But i have a test today."

It was the first time Jin had stirred from the grogginess in… how long had it been? Judgment of time seemed to slip from him, something impossible to grasp. Weeks? Days? Years? Trying to move he felt the deterioration of his body. His family no doubt had done anything that money and technology could do to keep him functional. That’s what they did when they needed you for something.  It would be better that everything had gone up in flames, himself included.  His consciousness had slipped in and out over this time, but he had never been able to do this. To move, however slightly, was new. Not exactly a victory, but it was new. He reveled in this clarity for a few moments before drifting back to the state he had been in, with the strange knowledge somewhere in the back of his mind that this would not be the last time this would happen.

A voice interrupted his dreams, his eyes blinked open. There was a light burning into his eyes. When was the last time he had seen the sun? He squinted, doing all he could to keep them open.  The voice was familiar. He remembered it reciting Keats, Coleridge and Milne.  He knew of the devotion that voice had given to his care. That’s what voices did when they needed you, when you furthered their own needs.

“You feel pretty comfortable, just walking in here?” He growled, his voice deeper than he remembered it being. It was strange, not knowing his own voice. Continuing to blink, his pupils shrinking quickly.  “Close that.” he barked.

The sudden voice behind her that Meiko had probably only heard once in the last two years about made her jump right out of her sink as her arms shut the curtains again without him evening have to tell her to. It was at some point a thought that had crossed her mind often enough, that what ever had happen that place the Hizaki's eldest son in such a state [and the death of his parents] would leave him in such a way for whatever length his body would hold onto. It wasn't like he was a vegetable that was being held onto, heavens no. He breathed without the need of assistance, and the monitors he had been hooked up to always read something was there.


But besides sitting in this room and reading to him daily as much as she could, Meiko had only ever spoken to him directly.

Once.


At the little party [well big really] thrown by his family almost three years prior. The whole 'showing off potential marriage' partners, arranged marriages after all was what kept the families close. Ties made alliances stick better, and with the time had come to these days it was very important to keep them strong. So of course, her 'father' had done the same respective thing all the other families had done. Being offered up as a sacrificial goat had not been something the red head had looked forward to on returning home from Italy. But what small chance she thought she could have its was a door out of the hell she would be trapped in if she couldn't.


So, in a way, shock she had been when she had received a private calling to the main house of the Hizaki's. To be told herself that he had decided on her [or well what ever package of alliance came with her most likely]. But the announcement would not be public to the others because he and his parent would be 'unable' present for unspoken reason for an unknown time.  Hidden family secrets was enough to know something was there, and so she pushed then to be able to assist her 'future husband' and family as best as she could until it could be so that the private of the arrangement made more sense to her own.

It was how she ended up knowing what little she had. Here, through the last year and a half she had play the part of dutiful wife in helping partake in her 'to-be' husband physical state, and mental. Anything else she had piece together. Someone [or well she knew who, after all she wasn't his only visitor] had left a paper once some weeks after she had started coming here that had a very small auditory for his parents.

His family had gone through a great deal to hide this in their 'absent nature' through all this.


But all that didn't matter now did it, she was a stranger standing here in a place he most defiantly didn't know. So, pushing her pounding heart out of her throat Meiko turned around to face the bed where he had been still for so long finding him covering his face. "I-"

She might have gotten her heart out of her throat, but Meiko found she didn't have her voice as she face flushed....

What was she suppose to say?

Well I am your fiance?


"I should get Dr. Kurogane.."


Right, yes because that's an intelligent thing to do when someone wakes up from a two year coma.
