Parking his car and locking it, Raiden wandered into the little cafe and gave the server a little nod as he sat down. The server came over with a bright, warm smile and asked what he wanted. Flicking through the menu he ordered coffee and food.

While the server walked off and started on the order, Raiden settled down with a paper and lazily glanced over it not really taking any thing in. He was too tired and still a bit hung over, both which were entirely his own fault. But he would go through the motions of the day and do what he needed to do for the day then crash when he got home.

As he was thinking about the things he needed to do, his coffee came over all nice and hot with the assurance that his food wouldn't be long. With another nod his eyes turned back to the paper, regretting finding the other bottles last night.

Habits.

It was not the thought on her mind really that revolved around the word itself, but the understanding of what made people predictable. Everyone, even if they did not notice it, did things the same way day in and day out unless provoked to do something differently. It was also something that was hard to impress that she herself had.

After all, for so long she had always been the 'Doll'.

A  lifeless toy pulled around on strings to do what someone else wanted, told how to act. So in this idealism she would have not such things.

Habits were for the individual for freedom of will.

But, even she knew that was a lie.

Discolored eyes from the contacts she worn watched from across the street as he got out of his car and walked into the little coffee shop. She didn't have to walk this way anymore, done a worn path from so many years of 'living' on her own. The pretending game that she was an individual to fool others. It was habit in a way that he came here on his way back through town even if his ending plan was not to go on to the school.

People cross paths because of habits.

Habits to walk a path so burned into the unconscious part of her mind brought her here. So, even if she was still the Doll she had been before coming back some weeks ago from Germany, it would mean that even a Doll could form 'habits'. Shivani shifted the purse on her shoulder as she looked away from the building to the direction she should be going. It was later in the morning, traffic was picking up with the rest of the world waking. Yuri never returned from the campus, leaving her alone in the somewhat never condo they now shared.

So she could walk to the buss stop on her own that would take her onward to the school and arrive later then was normal.

The distant thought of instructing a 'new body' to do a job as Yuri had rambled on yesterday about the individual he had left to pick up from the airport leaving ehr to take the bus home again. He was trying to separate her away from the others, his fear leaking out as clear as day to no one else but herself. His fear of loosing control, the loose chains that bound her mind in its suspension of what once was the Doll.

And what had become the monster beneath.

When the light turned, however, her feet took to the street crossing it as she walked towards the little shop. Brushing the loose blond hair off her jacket as she step through the door, looking at Raiden's back were he sat staring at the paper in his hands.

Looking tired, worn, and..

Ever so hung over.

A small sigh passed over her lips as Shivani walked towards him, the subtle 'ring back' of his ever suppress ring was just to warn him of her presence before she wrapped her arms around his shoulder from behind, kissing his cheek.

"Sie sehen aus wie sie hatten einen schrecklichen Nacht, liebe."

Bringing the coffee to his lips, he smiled as the hot liquid went down making him feel better for a fraction of a second. Feeling the gentle pulsate of the ring, he didn't have to turn around to know who it was behind him. Setting his coffee down, he soon felt her physical presence and she draped her arms on his shoulders. Receiving the kiss with a small flicker of a smile, he reclined his head back into the crook of her neck. "man könnte sagen, dass."

Softly giving her jaw line a small kiss, he raised his head and gestured for her to sit down. Struggling and failing to hold back a yawn, which he hid behind his hand. "Entschuldigung."

The noise of the waiter walking over with his food, shook Raiden out of his little feeling of dopiness from the yawn.
Setting his food down, the waiter looked at Shivani. "Would you like a menu Miss?" The Waiter smiled politely and waited for her answer, as Raiden looked from his food and the lovely smells that were wafting up to his nose, to Shivani.

She unwrapped her arms from around his neck as he yawned. The faint smell of lingering liquor still on his breath. Perhaps she could laugh at the irony, that he and Yuri were so familiar in that way. Both with the same habit in dealing with things they did not want to face. But it never reached her face, her discolored eyes remained the same unemotionally attached to her surroundings. Shivani stepped around his chair instead as the young waitress returned with his order sitting it down at the table in front of her.

The German Doll didn't answer at first, as she settled a hand on the other blond German fighter's arm. It was like an instant reaction without words, he pushed out his chair just enough, hand finding its way around her waist as he pulled her to sit on his lap.

Habits.

" No I am alright..." was the only simple acknowledgment she gave to being asked question while she shifted herself to sit across the other's lap. Not bothering to care what it looked like to any on looker. Laying her head against his shoulder, as he had done with her what seemed like a long time ago.

Life time perhaps, in the darkness of a forgotten castle.

When she was nothing more then a lifeless toy. But this time she had freedom of movement, she could at least choose that now. Which she did, as she ran her hand through his hair pushing from of it back behind his ears.

"Sie sollten nicht alleine trinken."

The waiter nodded and left them alone. Once gone, Raiden took his free hand and pushed a bit of his food around his plate. As Shivani started to play with his hair, her slender fingers running through felt so nice that he relaxed and his eyes closed, forgetting for a few seconds that he had a cooling breakfast sitting in front of him.

"Ich weiß, aber wissen Sie, wie bekomme ich." He mumbled turning his head toward hers and resting his head gently against her temple. He didn't want to go to school, he didn't want to do any thing today. And it wasn't because of his hangover. It was his mind and emotions that wanted him to get into his car and drive back home and hide at his house for weeks on end.

In the end he would always force himself. Push through the mental mind block that wanted him to hide from the world.

A sigh escaped and he opened his eyes. Giving Shivani a little peck on her temple, he turned his focus back to the plate. "Würden Sie in teilen?" He asked poking the fork with a finger.

Without waiting for an answer he picked up the fork and proceeded to push a bite sized piece off with the edge of the fork. Once he finally had a piece the fork stabbed it and it went straight into his mouth as his stomach gave a small rumble.

Chewing slowly he gave Shivani a quick glance. After he had given up his stupid tries at normality, he had stopped thinking he knew what was going through her head. These days he didn't even try, even so it didn't stop him from being curious.

Perhaps..

A normal individual would have laughed at that. The thoughts that crossed her mind that were never spoken allowed. After all, she knew even if he never had the guts to say the words himself to the blond sacrifice. The similarities between them, she could wonder if Raiden ever noticed them, they drank alone because of how it made them.

But to her, was it because of the conditioning that made them that way,; after all, one would never know how they would have been like had this world not sucked them into its darkness. Had Natara never brought her to Seven Moons.

Had none of them ever been apart of the Unit world all together. But then, they would have never meant, lived their lives oblivious of each other. Carried on, like the normals, he would have gone on to a great way of life like his parets probably had wanted for him, were she would have remained the unwanted street rat. Probably found her way back into another Gypsy...

Ah.

She would have never been tossed out actually; she could have become the Shuv’hani, after the elder woman had passed.

Blank discolored eyes stared forward at nothing, when he offered her some of his food. Hands laying in her lap, still as stone, empty, but in side the wheels of angry turning over again again, beating against chains at the thoughts of what could have been. Nothing that had taken place because of what she was would have taken place, all of it...

Would have been stripped away.

Raiden would have had his happy life of the city.

And she would have been carefree and wild Traveling the world.

And yet.

His hand moved again picking up from his plate when she didn't answer, in a moment of habits, he move his hand toward her. Like the times long before, she obliged by opening  her month so he could feed her some of his morning meal. Habits burned down from the time they spent in darkness together. Survive was only possible because of each other.

Because he wanted to pretend that life still existed.

Her lips closed around the fork as he pulled it back out, to cut himself another piece to eat himself, no even bothering to ask again if she wanted some. THe thoughts of never knowing him and having that life -

Over the path that had brought them together. Which would have been the better.

Know that was the silent question that stilled that beating chains.

A slight unconscious tug of her lips that would have made a crocked smile flash for a moment before that blank look returned as she chewed the food in her mouth. Swallowing, she rested her head against his shoulder, an 'normal' trained indication between them that stated she had 'eaten'.

Like when her 'caretakers' in the darkness had remember to see to her well being. Instructions he had once given her himself, so he would know when it was safe for him to eat all what meal he was given for his own strength, or if she needed it as well.

"Sie werden nicht allein heute Abend ... "Er" möchte nicht wissen, Sie waren ... The words a soft whisper for his ears allow. This again, was a reparation of something from the past. Instructions given right after Raiden was broken from the chains of his mad sacrifice. When Yuri had taken to seeing to the other's recovery.

Why.

Raiden could believe what he wanted to. She knew the truth, though the words would always been sealed on the tip of her tongue from him. Let the other believe as he would. In those days, he found sanity at the end of bottles, the blonde sacrifice had made sure it was found not allow.

Loyalty bought but suffering though the other's pain. Yuri was there at the end of the fits, and strong enough to battle through them when they started.

The Japanese man was just the strong gutted as the German fighter, nights spend sitting still in a corner watching the both find an easier resolution at the end. Like how Yuri did that know in his silent pain.

The laughter behind the chains in that thought though it didn't leave her stone still lips.

"Gehen wir nach der Arbeit. Es ist ein Ort, der einen offenen Klavier hat. She lifted her head after a while watching him eat, kissing his cheek again. Das heißt, wenn Kyros will uns nicht, um die neue Sekretärin um zu zeigen."

After going through the motions of eating Raiden set down his fork and placed his hand on her knee. His eyes stared down at the plate before them and tried not to focus too much on the slightest mention of the sacrifice. He didn't want his face to betray one of his deepest secret. The one that would stay with him forever.

A small pang of guilt pulled at him. He didn't want to feel this way. It felt like he was betraying Shivani.

After all she did for him.

Breathing through his nose heavily, Raiden brought the hand on her knee up to stroke her hair as he lost himself in thought. The way he felt about the sacrifice, the way he felt about her and then the piano was introduced.

Another pang.

Now the old days of his parents and the piano they had in the house that he had painstakingly learnt how to play the thing. His hand paused on her head as he remembered when he had broken his hand. His dreams as a child had been shattered continuously.

This one had hurt the most.

He had taken a long time to get back into piano and even now he was still, like everything else rather hesitant to push himself and commit himself fully to it.

Resting his hovering hand on Shivani's shoulder he mulled the the statement over. He felt somewhat comfortable playing in front of Shivani and Malik, but in front of other people he was still rather hesitant. Sighing he looked to the other fighter as the pessimistic side of him wanted to say no to the idea. But with Shivani by his side he wanted to think that maybe he could push himself. He didn't have to see the people at the place again.

The second statement flashed a quick image of the new redhead to his mind and Raiden quietly hoped he wouldn't have to stay back at the school longer than he had to and teach the new person their responsibilities on top of his own massive load of work that was constantly piling up on his desk. Meetings, students schedules, interviews the lot. All of it he knew would already be piled up on his desk for when he went in today.

Turning his head he kissed Shivani's forehead. "Vielleicht sollten wir warten und entscheiden, was zu tun ist, nach der Arbeit getan hmmm?" He hummed softly, his cheek resting against her forehead.

Some like to think they could control the look on their faces, when they were sad, angry, or, in Raiden's case in pain. Pain from memories some wished to forget, of things better left never said. He didn't have to, though inwardly the beast could laugh. After all the death of his other had been by his own hands. The droning knowledge that regardless of how he felt then will always remain as the soul core to everything. After all, wasn't there some physcolagic study about those who survive loosing their other half?

A soul cut in two would be driven into madness until it could no longer exist.

Or bound to another.

Perhaps that was Yuri over all plan in the end to help the other German fighter. Find him another, someone else to bare the pain of his other half.

Because the beast within her knew that the blonde sacrifice would be slowly driven to his own insanity at some point. Just like Germany had driven her into her own, a monster lock behind a pretty set of eyes. His hand came to rest on her shoulder. The automatic response to lift her own and string her fingers between his as she held on tight.

His reaction also seemed to improve with such gestures.  Other people were walking into this cafe now, the morning rush perhaps for this place. More bodies, more people, the more the itching feeling of claustrophobia would start to make the other anxiety surface. Like when she was left in silence for far to long.

But the dripping blood had stop. O Yuri had seen to that when he reforged the burning bound between them to control her mind.

And so, the Doll smiled as she tucked her face into his neck, kissing it in a soft gesture as she held onto his hand. "Seine spät, werden Sie mir eine Fahrt in geben?    "

His only reaction was to nod at the question as the realisation and awareness of others, strangers filtering into his little bubble of quietness which subsequently popped and hyper awareness set in. He could almost hear the disgusting swallowing of the hoards of people that crammed themselves into the shop and then stuffed their faces quickly with food, probably having a late breakfast before rushing off like the German couple, who as Shivani reminded him, they had to get to work.

Great. Another day of bullshit which would only serve to make him want to drink again.

Inhaling he squeezed her fingers and motioned for her to get up so he could pay and get the hell out of the place, which as he got up, pushed in his chair and walked over to the counter he thought as he tried not to make any eye contact with the bustling crowd, it was never usually this busy. Quickly paying, he nodded to the server and without fuss made his way back to Shivani, nodded to her indicating he was ready to leave and headed out.

Stepping out into the morning sun, Raiden squinted and shaded his eyes from the bright glare and inwardly breathed a sigh of relief.

He was free from that over crowded hell.

But was heading from one suffocating place to another.

He of course opened the door for Shivani and once settled he started the car and started towards the school.

School.

The thought of school made his eyes do a quick side glance at the other. They had both been through a whole pile of crap because of the German school. Both had come out a lot different. Some times Raiden had thought he would barely make it through. If it hadn't been for the blonde female sitting next to him, he probably would have been long gone. Although she had been changed and he knew she was no longer the same person he first met many years ago Raiden felt he owed her a great deal. Probably more than she would know.

His driving was automatic and the car next to silent as they made their way towards their place of work.

PostSubject: Re: Pumpernickel Avenue Coffee Shop   Pumpernickel Avenue Coffee Shop EmptySun Jul 13, 2014 5:34 am

Masa pulled up to the side and looked at the small place. Once he fixed the bike up and removed his helmet he smirked as he began walking to the door and open it. His ring very low as to not startle any units around while he wanted to lay low for the time being. "'scues me." Masa said as he walked past some people at a table. The area was so small as he squeezed through an went to sit in a dark corner. He looked at the menu while waiting for a waiter to come by take his order. Masa was looking at the top of the menu as he scanned the room. Vague smells of business people getting ready for their day. The sights of others are interesting and Masa was keeping an eye on everyone as they sat a distance away as well. People in their normal lives. Keeping the hidden life away from view but we all know it is there. No worries I can tell but you won't get exposed.' He smirked as he looked around. "Not yet anyways." He said out loud as he placed the menu on the table and tried to relax before plotting his day.

A waiter came to him and asked him what he would like to order. "Strong coffee. I am still deciding on food." He said as the guy bowed and left. Masa looked back at the menu trying to decide what he wanted. He didn't look around or pay any mind to what was surrounding him. All he wanted was food and an idea of what he wanted to do today. His golden eye was looking around for odd ore peculiar things. He didn't notice how he passed 2 important people at all.

The rings.

It's always the rings she hears first before anyone else. Perhaps it has to deal with being a BLANK... or perhaps it just has to deal with what she is. The feeling is second, but this one was just the blast of annoyance.

A child who didn't know any better to what they were..

Or a fool tailing bait for the wolves to follow.

This one had one announcing end, to effect she could turn into a name to understand as she hid the sound with in, took it to be apart but not to make her whole. This was another BLANK. It's why it was loud, and annoying.

Her hands found their way under on of Raiden's shoulders as he payed his bill to leave. Icy discolored eyes moved to the door as the dark haired man walked in.

O she knew this ring.

The chilling ignorance, and the back taste of blood in her mouth, this was one of those 'loose ends' that like walking about the city and causing trouble. Rogue on the minds of the Families that like causing problems. But this wasn't the place to address it. And neither was the time.

So, she would 'accidentally' bump into the man as he walked passed them mumbling something in German that the man though absolutely none of as he made his way to a chair. Raiden slight look of as he opened the car door for her was enough to be dismissed the action was nothing.

Common for her to do something he didn't know about because it was instruction.

But black fibers of hair now woven about on her fingers. They had matters at the school to see to.

This fly could be caught another day in a better place.

The fly with his many eyes were not only skimming the pamphlet before him to determine what he wanted but he was watching his prey exit the building. His mind was playing the yes no game of choosing possibilities for food but his eyes were locked on the couple until they were out of sight. The tingle Masa was unsure about slowly began to fade a bit when the doll left but alas his growling stomach wouldn't allow him to concentrate on anything else but food. A boyfriend perhaps? He stored that into his memory banks to ensure he had another way of toying with the doll when he was bored or provoked. They bumped into each other as he was getting to his seat earlier. But right now wasn't the time for another fight. Masa was too hungry and had a migraine so he just wasn't in the mood for such things for now but that didn't stop him from thinking of things to do when he was ready.

Don't worry puppet~ We will fight again in due time. he smirked knowing the scars they gave each other before. "Sir your coffee." the waiter stated as he Masa looked over at him. "Give me the house special today." He stated  handing the man the menu and leaning back in his chair. Thankfully he combed his hair forward and removed the hilt from his eye before coming inside. It was one of his dead giveaways. The waiter bowed and left to gather the food as Masa's golden eye narrowed and watched the two leave the small breakfast place. Hmmm maybe the boy toy would be a much better target. The bitch holds no emotion and ticks me off...So he may be much more interesting to play with~ he smirked as he added a little sugar to his coffee and sipped.

The morning news was on and Masa wasn't really finding it interesting until the announcement of a press conference was heard. "Showing us US affairs?" he mumbled as he watched and listened to the conference...

'As of late there have been accidents or unknown phenomenons occurring throughout some major cities across the world including us at home. Today I am visiting Japan to speak to the Prime Minister and see if we can come up with a solution to stopping these strange occurrences from happening again.'

But the conference of the woman speaking wasn't interesting enough for Masa to pay attention to. He noticed a figure standing in the background and she was highly decorated. He huffed as his golden eye narrowed but a smirk came across his face. Her hair was tightly pulled back into a braid but her blue eyes were piercing. Just as the cold manner about her Masa knew all too well. Strange occurrences huh? Sounds like a unit at work. Maybe a cult? You would hate that wouldn't you mother~ "Sir?" The waiter snapped Masa's attention from the screen and his cold dark thoughts. "The miso soup will be ready in about 5 more minutes. The chef is making the new pot." Masa waved it off and nodded as the waiter left. Of course being hungry he didn't wait her just began to eat. No matter the time Masa wolfed down his food then got up and paid his bill. HE walked out knowing he needed to pick up a fresh supplies. He got on his bike and headed t his next location.
